Candle Care

We recommend the following care to ensure the longevity of your Cakey Candle. It is important that you read all information regarding candle care as well as the warning label at the base of you candle prior to burning.

 

To ensure an even smoke-free burn, the wick should be centered & trimmed to a length of 1/4-inch each time before lighting.

The approximate burn time for our candles is 50-55 hours. Drafts, the motion of ceiling fans, and other factors may affect candle burn times. Keep lit candle on a heat proof and stable surface.

 

To get the most out of your Cakey candle don’t burn candle for longer than 4 hours at a time. Let the wax melt across the entire surface to optimize scent throw.

If the flame is getting lost in the wax pool, extinguish the flame, pick up glass with pot holder or cloth, and carefully pour excess wax into wastebasket. DO NOT POUR IN SINK once the wax hardens it can clog pipes.

It is important that at the end of combustion at least 1/2-inch of wax remains in the container. Burning below this point could be dangerous and may result in the glass cracking or breaking.

 

Never use water to put out the flames as it can become highly flammable when mixed with oils of the wax and fragrance. Turn wick into the wax to extinguish so there’s no smoke created.
